Adding New Plants

Published

Sep 2026

This catalogue is designed to grow. Add a plant to an existing group when its main use matches that chapter. Create a new group only when several plants share a clearly different use, growing condition or customer need.

Copy-and-edit plant entry

Replace plant-placeholder.svg with a plant-specific image when it becomes available. A 4:5 portrait image is recommended.

Suggested image workflow

  1. Photograph a clean, healthy plant against an uncluttered background.
  2. Crop the photograph to a consistent 4:5 portrait ratio.
  3. Save it in assets/images/plants/ using a short lowercase filename.
  4. Replace the placeholder path in the relevant plant entry.
  5. Write useful alternative text describing what the image shows.
